I've always considered myself an activist, but since coming out a year ago my activism feels so much more personal and important. These are indeed words to live by. Second - just found your blog tonight through "kid of queers" and have spent more than an hour reading through archives. I came out last summer after 8 years of marriage - and have been trying to navigate this journey as best as possible (writing about my journey at my blog - linked above). My daughters are young - six and three - and their transition is so important to me. I am glad to find a collection of writing and blogs that will hopefully provide me with much needed information and perspective on their experience. Very glad to have stumbled across your site. MLK’s words also bring to mind some aspects of <a href="http://www.catholic-forum.com/saints/pray0027.htm" rel="nofollow">the Prayer of St. Francis</a>, which I also find inspirational at times. Abigail, Thank you for this reminder that when as individuals we are called to speak out for justice, we are compelled to answer that call.
