Abigail Garner

My Upcoming Presentation at General Mills

Betty’s Family, the GLBT Employee Network at General Mills (founded in Minnesota) is hosting a speaker’s series on LGBT issues for Pride month, and has invited me to address an audience that is open to all General Mills employees — of all identities and cultures. General Mills employees have been encouraged to invite their spouses, partners or friends to these events.

Ranked 197 among the Fortune 500, General Mills is known for its commitment to diversity and equality. In fact, HRC give General Mills an “Equality Index Score” of 100. (Currently HRC lists only 104 companies with a score of 100.)

I will be presenting on June 5th at noon at General Mills corporate headquarters.
Topic: “Families Like Mine: Children of Gay Parents Tell It LIke It Is. A conversation with author and advocate Abigail Garner”

My appearance at General Mills has been reviewed and approved by the steering committee of General Mills Betty’s Family GLBT Employee Network.

Other invited presenters for June include:

Monica Meyer, Public Policy Director, OutFront Minnesota
Topic: “The Same-Sex Marriage Debate in Minnesota”

Ann Viitala, local attorney specializing in GLBT family issues
Topic: “Legal issues facing GLBT employees”

Sheri Seifert, local real estate agent
Topic: “What’s going on with the Twin Cities real estate market?”
