COLAGE Activities in Tulsa, Peoria, Minneapolis, Boston
Here’s a compilation of announcements sent to me from various COLAGE chapters.
TULSA. March 20, 2006
COLAGE-Tulsa is a local chapter that is just now starting up. We are looking for members, leadership, and support. Our goal is to provide support and fun for people with lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender parents in the Tulsa area. We hope to provide regular events, peer groups, or activities. Long-term goals include a wonderful Diversity Parade float in the summer plus connecting families to opportunities to speak on panels, work with the media and/or do legislative activism.
Katie Watson, Co-Chair of COLAGE-Tulsa will be showing a brand new youth-produced documentary film by and about children of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender parents and she will lead the discussion to follow-up on the film.

Join us for the Illinois premiere of In My Shoes: Stories of Youth with LGBT Parents at a special COLAGE House Party in Peoria, IL with COLAGE Program Director, Meredith Fenton.

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL. April 29 (and ongoing listserve)
COLAGE is planning programming for the Rainbow Families Conference on April 29th. If you are an adult COLAGER who would like to plan or facilitate workshops for middle school, high school, and young adults, contact meredith@colage.org. Having one or more LGBT parents is all the experience you need to get involved.

After an inspiring community meeting for youth and adults with LGBT parents in the Twin Cities, COLAGE (Children of Lesbians and Gays Everywhere) has created a new listserv for the community in Minnesota. This list is for youth and adults of all ages who have one or more lesbian, gay, bisexual, and/or transgender parent/s. This online community will share information about upcoming events, swap stories and experiences, and support one another as people with LGBT parents. and yes indeed. the Illinois premiere of the movie is actually going to be in Peoria! (i am going to St. Louis for other work stuff and couldnt deal with the guilt if i didnt go visit the families.)
