The word “flaming” comes to mind…
I owe much of my sense of pride to the Twin Cites Gay Men’s Chorus. With zero representations of respectable gay men reflected anywhere in society, I looked forward to their concerts where I felt free. When my dads were in it, it was called the Twin Cities Men’s Chorus just to give you a sense of how times have changed.
That said, I cringed when I saw the ad for their 25th anniversary concert:

Did no one along the way to releasing this poster — from the designer to the marketing committee — question how this image could be interpreted?
You don’t think they did that on purpose?
I thought it was weird that they are standing on a wedding cake.
