Mainstream Media picks up White House Egg Roll Story
Today Associated Press reporter David Crary wrote an article, “Gay families plan Easter at White House” that is getting picked up and reprinted like crazy. According to Google News, the story has published in the online versions of over 40 news outlets. Among them: ABC News and CNN.
This story bums me out. At first it seemed like a good idea: “hey let’s include our families in a fun event” but the idea “Hey lets march our kids past hateful screaming right wing bigots, to an event where we’re probably no longer welcome” doesn’t sound so fun for the kids any more.
I loved going to Gay Pride Parades when I was a kid, even though they were very much protest rallies back in the 70s complete with hostile cop. But this doesn’t sound as positive somehow.
But on the other hand, screw the right wing loonies, no one should scared off from rolling eggs down a hill! These stories just get me all mixed up.
