Any Texan with a heart will vote AGAINST Prop. 2 if they see these commercials
Proposition 2, which will be decided on November 8, prohibits marriage, civil unions and domestic partnerships for same-sex families in Texas. VOTE NO!
Want to spread the word? NGLTF developed some powerful ads to encourage Texans to vote AGAINST to proposal. I have no idea how much air time they were actually able to secure, but the ads are accessible on the NGLTF website. These very real, personal interviews are extremely effective in moving the debate from hypothetical to the reality of the destructive impact Proposition 2 will have on Texas citizens.
The first ad features a same-gender loving mother who says her family is a family in “every sense of the word.” The next segment is a same-gender loving female couple talking about their commitment. Other ads include a gay couple kicked out of their apartment, and a PFLAG couple taking about their gay sons. (”I had not planned on my daughter-in-law’s name being Jeff, but I love him.”) It’s worth taking the time to view all seven, and then send the link to your friends in Texas.
