Dr. Eve Russell Joins PFLAG…
…or at least takes a look at their website.
Dr. Russell is the second most powerful person in Harmony, MA. She’s a respected physician and she happens to be African-American. And her youngest daughter is lesbian!
(BTW, the most powerful person is billionaire Alistair Crane, who could take over the world but instead prefers to use his power to severely annoy the few dozen people who live in this tiny town.)
The preview for today’s episode of Passions shows Dr. Russell with her ex-husband viewing a website for parents who have gay and lesbian children. Mr. Russell looks a bit shocked, but Dr. Russell, I hope, will keep it all in perspective. For the past few months, Dr. Russell has been trying to talk her eldest daughter out of joining the convent where she has retreated after discovering that the father of her baby is actually a half-brother she never knew she had.
Hmmmm…..Parents of Reluctant Nuns who have Abandoned their Own Children Fathered by their Accidental Half-Brothers…The Russells are not gonna find a website to get support for that.
In comparison, coming to terms with having a lesbian daughter seems downright elementary.
