Breeders Seeking Cool Gay Parents
And when I say “breeder” in this context I mean it in the most loving way possible.
David Moye, a columnist for the San Diego Voice riffs on how he and his wife hope their toddler scores some play dates with a kid who has interesting/cool (read: gay) parents.
Moye gives a shout out to my book, Families Like Mine, to give readers and himself a reality check: queer families aren’t always blissfully watching Wizard of Oz. (Although, ahem, the last time I watched the DVD was only a few weeks ago.)
But seriously: this is going to be an important bridge in the coming years: heterosexual people who find the “straight” world too “straight,” and who consciously recognize how the inclusion of queer folks enhances their own lives and communities.
