I wrote a short letter about National Coming Out Day, and Minneapolis StarTribune published it:
October 11th is National Coming Out Day. If someone you care about is gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender (GLBT) you can make a difference by “coming out” — as an ally. Allies challenge anti-gay sentiment that could be held by your legislator, minister, or even your next-door neighbor. I am the daughter of a gay father and I will continue to speak out against the discrimination our loved ones face until their legal rights are equal to those of heterosexual Americans.
